About Shri Rajnath Singh
Shri Rajnath Singh is one of India’s senior national leaders and has served as Union Minister of Defence since 2019. A former teacher with a postgraduate degree in physics, he entered public life through student and organisational work before being elected to the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly. His career has included service as Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Union Home Minister, Union Surface Transport Minister and twice as National President of the Bharatiya Janata Party. His public responsibilities have spanned education, internal security, transport, defence preparedness and strategic policy. He represents Lucknow in the Lok Sabha.
